«A diamond is a piece of coal that remained stuck to the job.» — Michael Larsen
When the resources have the just quantity of pressure, things extraordinary can come to pass. It is enough to ask Steve Jobs. If he had not been a complete disaster as a person, we would not have the Apple III that dissolves into the floor for the lack of a fan, nor the iPhone.
The vision of Jobs to have some buttons upon a piece of glass to call someone had been imagined only by every show of science-fiction ever realized, but Jobs rendered it real. How? By menacing the careers of persons who desperately wished to impress him. His immense visionary pressure to give results has carried to us not only the iPhone, but the Lisa, the Newton, and the NEXTSTEP cube.
Even at the end, the visionary use of Jobs of the fruit, instead of the simple pharmaceuticals of the normal people, left him transcendent. His capacity to remain near Steve Wozniak, and the sartorial genius of a black shirt and blue trousers, have changed the lives of humanity and have led to the most precious company of the earth.
Therefore, the next time that you make the overtime, remember that you are living the mantra of Jobs himself. Sooner or later, you will be that diamond which conquers his heart.
