«The work heals the broken soul.» — Moses
The hard work is the best medicine for the mind. The ancients knew it well, and the pyramids prove their wisdom. While the body hurls itself against the great masonry before it, the snap of the vertebrae signals a new growth.
When the whip strikes, one feels the clarity of intent down into the bones. "Move yourself," the welt recalls. The days beneath the sun dissolve away whatever banal thought of repose, equity, or even comfort. The work is where we are alive.
To draw out the perfect clip art or to find a superb background for a deck is my personal contribution to the gigantic pyramid of value that, all of us who labor now in our worldwide corporate expanse, are constructing for the future of our children.
I recall having placed four bullet points upon a slide, and having believed to have created the perfect deck. Then, the recall of the work carried me back down from the clouds. Five bullet points were the true response. Five, not four — and my love for the curative power of the work has conducted me to the truth.
